Character, Conflict and Goal.

Escape...

The only way that a young girl is able to escape her town is if she wins a beauty pageant. Sally has always been a girl to turn heads. Natural beauty were her main assets, along with her talents, intelligence and open mind. Winning this competition would not be the hardest thing for Sally. Sally is not so worried about winning this competition or at least putting up a good fight, confidence is another thing that Sally holds, although the escapism that Sally will receive if she wins this pageant means everything to her. She will do anything that she has to in order to win.

Weeks were spent trying to prepare herself for this day where she will be tested on a range of skills including her talents and beauty. Picking the perfect outfits along with the matching hairstyles etc. for each round of the competition. When Sally finally arrives at the competition she notices the looks that she is getting from the other contestants are not the most welcoming. Sally chooses to ignore them and continue her planned routine of getting prepared for the first round. She gets all of her outfits ready, she is extremely well organized but she soon comes to realise that she has left her one and only hair straighter at her apartment which is an hour and a half away from the location of the pageant; going home and coming back is not even an option for her so she has to think on the spot. She decides that the only thing that she can do is ask to borrow one of the girls she is competing with however the looks that she received led her to believe that this would not be the most easiest task. She asks three different girls and they all turn a cold shoulder and ignore her. Someone sees Sally struggle and chooses to be nice and lend her the straightener.. Some time was lost however Sally managed to make it just in time for the first round of the competition. The gap between the character and her goal of winning the competition increases and decreases
within this situation.

As Sally prepares for the third round she starts to make her way to the stage when she realises a little piece of thread is hanging from her dress. Every girl knows not to pull a handing piece of thread from anything because it will rip, there are no scissors around meaning that Sally must just have to deal with it but must be cautious when walking around that it does not get caught onto anything. She makes her way out to the runway. Sally is having such a good time strutting her stuff out on the catwalk that she completely forgets about the little thread. One of her bangles get caught whilst she sways her arm and the thread gets pulled...
We all know what that does... (LOUD RIP)
Sally ran off stage in embarrassment with the gasps that she received when this situation took place. She went and cried as she thought her chance of winning the pageant ripped along with her dress. However she looked in the mirror and regained confidence and said that she would not give up . She went and completed the final round, as though it has never happened and ended up winning the entire pageant with flying colours as her bravery played in her favour as it  impressed the judges.
