Script (Draft 2)


SCREENPLAY - COMPOSURE



VOICEMAIL

LEON

(Stressed, sighing)

This is Leon…I need an appointment as soon as possible, it’s getting worse I just cannot take it anymore. My doctor told me that my blood pressure is getting out of control but he doesn’t get it. He says I need help.


INT. THERAPIST OFFICE. DAY
THERAPIST

Hello Leon, I`m Sonia I’ll be your therapist for today. Please feel free to tell me anything that’s on your mind… feel free to open up to me.

Not literally open up!

You aren’t a tin can.



LEON

(Looks confused)
ermmm

 THERAPIST

Okay, sorry a bit too fast for you there, let’s pace ourselves now…deep breaths (breaths heavily over and over again)

Let’s start again. Would you like to tell me what’s on your mind?

 LEON

(Sighs)

Ahhh I don’t know where to start.

A levels, Football, My personal statement, My girlfriend

(Fade out)

 (Fade in)

THERAPIST

(Almost falling asleep, suddenly snaps back into reality)

WOOOOOW

Well you sure are a full tin can!

(Starts cracking up laughing to herself)

LEON

(Gets creeped out and moves back slightly)

Yeah anyways…

 
THERAPIST

(Pulls herself together)


LEON

Rahh

(Puts head down)


 THERAPIST

Okay okay I know what to do with you

Let me suggest some relaxation techniques and activities that could help ease your mind

OH I HAVE A GREAT IDEA!!!

What about gymnastics?

You know, get your body stretched out, loosen up…

(Camera tilts up to show Leon imagining something)

(Gymnastic video and music)



LEON

Nah nah nah that’s not happening!!

 (Camera on Leon)


THERAPIST

Ballet?


LEON

No


THERAPIST

Bird watching?


 LEON

No

Wait what kind of birds


THERAPIST

Tiddlywinks?

 (Leon straight faces and sighs, then looks at his watch)


THERAPIST

Okay my next appointment is scheduled for right now so we need to speed it up.

What about Yoga?


LEON
Yeah yeah whatever.


THERAPIST
As your therapist I think it would be best if you took my advice Leon

(smiles in a creepy way)

That’s me telling you that you need to do what I say.


LEON

(Creeped out/scared face)

Erm okay

 

EXT. MAYESBROOK PARK. DAY

LEON is walking around the park with a yoga mat

 
EXT. MAYESBROOK PARK. BY THE LAKE. DAY




LEON sets up his yoga equipment by the lake and begins with stretches. He is then distracted when ducks begin to peck at him and cause him to run off.

LEON packs up his yoga equipment in a hurry as is immediately chased away to a new area by a small dog.





EXT. MAYESBROOK PARK. BY A TREE. DAY

LEON walks around to a new spot on a clear area of grass , close to some steps.

LEON

(Closes his eyes and assumes position)
LEONS mind is then knocked into another state when a football hits him in the head.


LEON has a tantrum and storms off toward the park exit where he then throws away his yoga mat in anger. Whilst walking back to the therapist he is caught up in a rustle with a bush; but don't get it wrong, he won the fight!



EXT. THERAPIST OFFICE.DAY

LEON

(Storms in)



LEON
(Shuts door in the EXTRA CHARACTERS face)

To extra character:-  Get out, get out now.


THERAPIST

You look excited, did it go well?

 (Leon stays straight faced and not saying anything)

So it didn’t go well?



LEON


It didn't go well? I'll tell you how it went!

I got pecked by ducks, chased by a dog, hit in the head with a ball and had a fight with a bush; but don't get it twisted, I won that fight!



THERAPIST


Okay Leon I have an old remedy that could work.



I’ve been doing this for years and it really helps me calm my nerves but you can’t tell anyone about this brilliance.

(Leon and therapist is knitting)

(Izzy walk in and sees what is going on)

(Leon throws the knitting stuff to make it look like he wasn’t doing it)

(Fade out)



Voice over:

After years of tying and months of endless stress, Leon finally found inner peace despite all the troubles in his everyday life.

There was always one thing that helped him shut out the rest of the world.

The therapist has not got her own therapist
