Treatment, Pitch and Tag Line (Draft 1)

Yoga…

Tagline:

'Life’s a stretch'

Pitch:

Charlie is on a hunt for inner peace. After hours of research on how to find inner peace he decides to try out Yoga. He chooses to retreat to a quiet peaceful area in Mayesbrook Park. However finding peace and quiet is not as easy as he thought it would be as he soon discovers that a public park in East London was probably not the best idea.

Treatment:

Charlie is a 17 year old boy who attends Barking Abbey Sixth form. Prior rebel, Charlie has chosen to take sixth form much more seriously after taking secondary school lightly and receiving reflecting grades of his attitude. He is staying behind after school to finish his media project when he realises that he is much tensed. He needs to relax and unwind so he chooses to take the route of carrying out yoga. He memorises the different things that he has learnt about this research on yoga to practice on when he has time.

Charlie decides to practice yoga in his local park (Mayesbrook) so he makes his way there in the new Yoga gear that his mother bought him and with his new Yoga mat. When he gets there he searches for a place similar to the peaceful images he saw when researching so he first chooses to sit near the lake. He sets all his Yoga props out and gets to meditating.

Charlie comes across a bench that looked alone, as though no one had walked past it in quite a while. He decided to sit on the bench and continue his journey to inner peace rather than being on the mat just in case his friends happened to walk by. He sat on the bench and once again assumed his first position. He closed his eyes and started to make the bee humming noise that he learnt from his research. His mind begins to ease, he begins to block out all of his crazy thoughts and focus on what was most important to him.

Silence…

Then suddenly Charlie`s phone starts to ring and it is his girlfriend. He answers with a sigh. His paranoid girlfriend starts to question where he is and who he is with; she hears a noise and she thinks it is another female so starts to freak out on him over the phone. He tries to calm her down and ten minutes later he manages to. His girlfriend then starts to speak about how she has been and what has been going on in her life. This ends up taking her two hours to do! Charlie decides that it is enough and chooses to tell her that he needs to go now. When he is finally able to hang up he decides that he should just give up and go home.

He starts to make his way to the exit of the park; he looks around as he walks and notices a part of the park he has never really noticed before. He makes his way over to it and sets up for the last time. This time he tries to start with a new position, a different stretch for his back. Charlie finally is able to relax, as he stares at the sky. He takes a deep breath and falls asleep in position.

Charlie has finally found a way to relax and find inner peace.

  1. The name doesn’t really represent the character or match their personality. Try searching for a different name that is more fitting to the personality of the character.

  2. The title of the movie is a bit boring/ plain. Maybe use a thesaurus to find alternate names.

  3. The story is great but there should be more conflict to make it a little more interesting!
